Description

This crispy and spiced chicken is a dish I often prepare for my friends and family. The key is in the marinade, which gives it an incredible flavor and keeps it juicy inside. The spice mix is what really makes this chicken stand out, with a spicy touch that makes it irresistible. It is perfect for an informal dinner or a party, and can be accompanied with a fresh salad or some homemade French fries. Go ahead and try it, you'll love it! The preparation is simple, but it requires some time for the marinade, so plan ahead. It is neither vegan, nor vegetarian, nor gluten-free, but it is delicious.

Ingredients (20 ingredients)

  • 0.5 piece Skinless chopped chicken
  • 300 g Wheat flour
  • 20 g Sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp Hot paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Ground curry
  • 1 tsp Tarragon
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Dried dill
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 200 g Wheat flour (for the batter)
  • 1 tbsp Sweet paprika (for the batter)
  • 1 tsp Salt (for the batter)
  • 0.5 tsp Dried thyme (for the batter)
  • 0.5 tsp Dried dill (for the batter)
  • 0.5 tsp Ground curry (for the batter)
  • 0.5 tsp Hot paprika (for the batter)
  • 0.5 tsp Granulated garlic (for the batter)

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the spice mix

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

In the Thermomix bowl, add 300 g of wheat flour, 20 g of sweet paprika, 1 tsp of hot paprika, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of ground curry, 1 tsp of tarragon, 1 tsp of dried thyme, 1 tsp of dried dill, 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of ground black pepper. Mix for 10 sec./Stufe 4.

Prepare the marinade

Pour the spice mixture into a large bowl. Add approximately 350-400 ml of cold water and stir until you get a homogeneous liquid mass, similar to that of crêpes. Do not use the Thermomix for this step.

Marinate the chicken

Dip the skinless chicken pieces (0.5 unit) in the marinade batter. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 3 hours. Do not use the Thermomix for this step.

Prepare the batter mixture

In another bowl, mix 200 g of wheat flour, 1 tbsp of sweet paprika, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of dried thyme, 1/2 tsp of dried dill, 1/2 tsp of ground curry, 1/2 tsp of hot paprika and 1/2 tsp of granulated garlic. Do not use the Thermomix for this step.

Coat the chicken

Pass the marinated chicken pieces through the flour mixture to coat, making sure they are well covered. Do not use the Thermomix for this step.

Fry the chicken

Fry the breaded chicken pieces in plenty of hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Do not use the Thermomix for this step.
