Description

This creamy garlic chicken is a comforting and flavorful dish that's perfect for a weeknight meal. I've been making this recipe for years, and it's always a hit with my family. The chicken breasts are coated in flour and pan-fried until golden brown, then simmered in a rich garlic cream sauce. It's so easy to make, and the Thermomix® makes it even simpler! Serve it with rice and green beans for a complete and satisfying meal. This dish is hearty and delicious, perfect for a cozy autumn evening.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 4 piece medium chicken breasts
  • 75 g plain flour
  • 2 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil
  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 10 clove small garlic cloves
  • 250 ml hot chicken stock
  • 100 ml double cream
  • 30 g Parmigiano-Reggiano
  • 1 bunch small bunch of flat-leaf parsley

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare Chicken

Place the chicken breasts in a shallow bowl and sprinkle with flour. Season well. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken, shaking off any excess flour first, for 1-2 mins until lightly golden all over. (You may need to do this in batches.) Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Melt Butter and Add Garlic

Add the butter to the same frying pan and melt over medium heat. Peel the garlic cloves and add them to the pan. Cook for 5 mins until the garlic has turned lightly golden, stirring to keep the chicken from burning.

Add Stock and Simmer

Pour in the hot chicken stock and simmer for 10 mins until the garlic is tender.

Add Cream and Cheese

Add the double cream and Parmigiano-Reggiano to the pan and simmer for a further 5 mins until the sauce thickens slightly. Taste for seasoning and adjust as needed.

Return Chicken to Pan

Return the chicken to the pan and coat with the sauce. Cook for 2 minutes.

Serve

Scatter with the chopped flat-leaf parsley, if using, and serve hot with rice and steamed green beans, if you like.
