Description

These roasted chicken wings with spicy sweet and sour sauce are a true triumph of flavors! The meat, marinated with spices and sauces, becomes very tender and juicy, while the sauce, prepared with fresh ginger and a touch of chili pepper, delivers an explosion of taste in every bite. I often prepare them for evenings with friends, because they are easy to share and everyone always likes them. The preparation takes a little time, but the result is guaranteed. Perfect as a delicious appetizer or as a main course accompanied by basmati rice. A tip? Prepare an extra dose, because they will disappear in the blink of an eye!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • Chicken wings
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Piri-piri sauce
  • Red Sriracha
  • Green Sriracha
  • Soy sauce
  • Cane sugar
  • White wine vinegar
  • Flour
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO)
  • Salt

Preparation (12 steps)

Preparation of chicken wings

Divide the chicken wings, removing the tips without pulp. Gather the meat in a bowl.

Marinating the wings

Then season the pieces of pulp: add salt, pepper, piri-piri sauce, red and green sriracha and mix everything with your hands.

Flour the wings

Pour a little flour into a food bag and also add the chicken.

Shake to flour

Shake the bag so that the flour covers all the pieces evenly.

Transfer to baking sheet

Now transfer the chicken to a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil.

First baking in the oven

Spritz some extra virgin olive oil on top and bake at 180°C for about 15 minutes.

Preparation of the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7

Meanwhile, insert the crushed garlic cloves into the bowl and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 7. Transfer to a saucepan.

Adding sauce ingredients

Add the grated ginger, cane sugar, white wine vinegar, red sriracha and soy sauce to the saucepan; cook everything over moderate heat, stirring occasionally.

Second baking in the oven

After the first 15 minutes, take out the pieces of chicken, turn them over and bake them again for another 10 minutes.

Mix chicken and sauce

At this point transfer the chicken to a bowl, pour the thickened sauce over it and mix.

Third baking in the oven

Arrange the pieces of chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake again for another 10 minutes.

Serve

Serve the spicy chicken wings hot to your guests.
