Description

These homemade orange cookies are a delight that I prepare often, especially when I have fresh oranges on hand. The zest and orange juice give it a citrusy and refreshing flavor that makes them irresistible. They are perfect to accompany morning coffee or as a sweet treat in the afternoon. The recipe is very simple and quick to make, although it requires a resting time in the fridge for the dough to settle. The result is cookies that are tender on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, with an orange aroma that floods the kitchen! Ideal to share with family or friends, or simply to enjoy a moment of relaxation.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 150 gramos flour
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 piece orange zest
  • 100 mililitros orange juice
  • 50 gramos butter at room temperature
  • 65 gramos sugar
  • 1 cucharada postre yeast
  • 5 cucharadas soperas icing sugar

4

Add flour and yeast

Thermomix® Setting
20 Seg./Vel. 4

Mix 1 dessert spoon of yeast with 150 grams of flour. Add the flour and yeast mixture to the bowl little by little. Mix for 20 seconds at speed 4. If the dough is too light, add a little more flour and mix for 5 more seconds at speed 4.

20
5

Refrigerate the dough

Form a ball with the dough, place it in a container and refrigerate for 2 hours to allow the dough to settle.

6

Form the cookies

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC with heat from above and below. Cover a baking tray with baking paper. Remove the dough from the fridge. Wet your hands so you can handle the dough without it sticking. Form balls the size of a walnut and place them on the baking paper with a separation of approximately 5 cm between them. Flatten the dough a little with your hands.

7

Bake the cookies

Bake the cookies for 10-15 minutes or until they start to brown around the edges. The time may vary depending on the oven. Do not let them cook too much so that they do not become too dry.

8

Cool and decorate

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the tray. Then, place them in a bowl and sprinkle with 5 tablespoons of icing sugar.
