Description

This quince jam with orange flavor is a real treat for anyone who loves fruity spreads. I make it every year in the fall when the quinces are ripe. The combination of quince and orange is simply unbeatable and gives the jam a special touch. It tastes great not only on bread, but also in yogurt or quark. The preparation is very simple and can be done in no time at all with the Thermomix®. A great recipe to capture the flavors of autumn!

Ingredients (3 ingredients)

  • 400 g Gelling sugar 2:1
  • 1000 g Quince(s)
  • 2 piece Orange(s) untreated, juice and peel

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare orange peel

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Peel the peel of one orange with a vegetable peeler and cut into thin strips. Place the orange peel strips in the mixing bowl and cover with water. Blanch for 3 min./100°C/speed 1. Then drain and set aside.

Prepare quinces

Peel, quarter and core the quinces and cut roughly. Place the prepared quince pieces in the mixing bowl.

Cook quinces

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add the juice of 2 oranges to the quinces in the mixing bowl. Cook for 20 min./100°C/speed 1 until the quinces are soft.

Puree quinces

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8-10

Puree the cooked quinces for 30 sec./speed 8-10 until a fine mass is formed. If necessary, push down with the spatula and repeat the process.

Cook jam

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add the gelling sugar and blanched orange peel to the pureed quince mixture in the mixing bowl. Cook for 5 min./100°C/speed 2.

Fill jam

Immediately pour the hot jam into prepared, clean jars and close them. Place the jars on the lid for a few minutes.
