Description

These homemade churros are a crunchy delight on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect to enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate. The recipe is simple, although it requires a bit of patience to achieve the perfect dough. I often prepare them in winter, especially for breakfast or a snack. My children love them! They can be frozen to always have on hand and fried at the moment. Once fried, sprinkling them with sugar or dipping them in melted chocolate is the ideal final touch. Go ahead and try them, you will love them!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 500 gr Flour
  • 650 ml Water
  • 3 cdas Oil
  • 6 gr Salt
  • Sunflower oil (for frying)

Preparation (8 steps)

Sift the flour

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Place 500 g of flour in the Thermomix bowl and sift for 10 seconds/speed 4 to avoid lumps and obtain a fluffier dough.

Heat the water with salt and oil

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Pour 650 ml of water into the Thermomix bowl. Add 6 g of salt and 3 tablespoons of oil. Program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1 to heat the mixture until it boils.

Add the flour and mix

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 4

Once the water boils, add the sifted flour all at once to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 30 seconds/Stufe 4 to integrate the flour and form a homogeneous dough. Use the spatula to help integrate the flour if necessary.

Cook the dough

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 3 100

Program the Thermomix for 3 Min./100°C/Stufe 3 to cook the dough. Stir with the spatula to prevent it from sticking and ensure even cooking.

Cool and shape the dough

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl and place it on a lightly floured surface. Shape it into a cylinder and let it cool slightly before putting it in the churro maker.

Prepare the churros

Insert part of the dough into a churro maker with a star nozzle. Form long strips on a tray with baking paper and cut in half. Freeze to have a reserve.

Fry the churros

Heat plenty of sunflower oil in a frying pan. Fry the churros until golden brown and crispy. Drain on absorbent paper.

Dip in chocolate (optional)

3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Melt chocolate in the Thermomix for 3 Min./50°C/Stufe 2. Dip the churros in the melted chocolate and let cool.
