Description

These savory flatbreads are an absolute delight! The dough is easy to prepare and the garlic cream gives them a special touch. I like to make them for parties or as a savory snack in between. The preparation takes a little time, but it's definitely worth it. They taste especially delicious when they are still warm. If you like, you can also top the flatbreads with other ingredients, such as fresh herbs or vegetables. A great recipe that is always well received!

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 500 g Wheat flour Type 550
  • 1 Tüte/n Dry yeast
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 250 ml Water
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 200 g Cooking cream
  • 5 Zehe(n) Clove of garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 250 g Cooked ham
  • Herbs
  • 1 Flasche Sunflower oil for frying

Preparation (10 steps)

Heat water and milk

Thermomix® Setting

Put 250 ml water and 100 ml milk in the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min./37°C/speed 1.

Prepare yeast mixture

Pour the warmed milk and water into a bowl. Add 1 packet of dry yeast and 2 tsp of sugar and stir. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Prepare flour

Sieve 500 g wheat flour type 550 into a separate bowl.

Prepare dough

Add the yeast-sugar-milk mixture and the lukewarm water to the flour in the bowl. Add 2 tsp salt and stir with a hand mixer until the dough becomes too firm.

Knead dough

Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead with your hands into a firm, smooth mass. Knead in more flour if necessary.

Let the dough rise

Return the dough to the bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Chop garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Place 5 cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Scrape down with the spatula.

Prepare garlic cream

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Add 200 g sour cream, 200 g cooking cream, the chopped garlic, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 3. Add herbs if necessary.

Shape and fry langos

Heat a large pot of sunflower oil on the hob. Grease your hands with oil or butter. Tear off golf ball-sized pieces from the dough and shape into round flatbreads. Carefully place the flatbreads in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on a piece of kitchen paper.

Top Langos

Spread the fried langos with the garlic cream, top with 250 g cooked ham and season with herbs as desired.
