Description

This country ratatouille with smoked bacon is a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for a family dinner or with friends. I love preparing this dish in the summer, when the vegetables are at their peak. The smoked bacon adds a touch of indulgence that goes perfectly with the sweetness of the vegetables. It's a simple dish to make, but it takes a little time for the flavors to develop fully. I often serve it with rice or polenta for a complete and balanced meal. A real delight!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • to taste smoked bacon cubes
  • Butter
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4 piece tomatoes
  • 1 piece green bell pepper
  • 4 piece zucchinis
  • 1 piece shallot
  • 1 piece eggplant

Preparation (4 steps)

Preparing the vegetables

Peel and cut the shallot in half. Cut the eggplant and zucchini into slices (leaving a little green on the zucchini). Cut the pepper and tomatoes into small pieces. Keep the water from the tomatoes which will be used for cooking.

Chop the shallot

Put the shallot in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Sauté the bacon and shallot

Add a knob of butter and a drizzle of oil to the Thermomix bowl. Add the smoked bacon cubes and chopped shallot. Sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the vegetables and cook

30 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the eggplant, zucchini, pepper and tomatoes to the Thermomix bowl. Salt and pepper. Mix gently with the spatula. Cover and cook for 30 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.
