Description

These crumble coins with dried fruits are a delicious treat, especially in the cold season. I make them every year for Christmas, and they are always gone in a flash! The combination of crispy crumbles, crunchy pecan nuts and sweet figs and dates is simply irresistible. The preparation is straightforward and quick thanks to the Thermomix®. Perfect for Advent coffee or as a small gift. If you like, you can also vary the cookies with other nuts or dried fruits. An absolute must for all sweet tooths!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 100 g Pecan kernels
  • 100 g Figs, dried
  • 100 g Dates, dried
  • 350 g Flour
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 g Butter
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Preparation (7 steps)

Chop nuts

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 5

Place 100 g of pecan kernels in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 seconds/speed 5. Transfer and set aside.

Prepare dried fruits

Thermomix® Setting

Place 100 g of figs and 100 g of dried dates in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 seconds/speed 5. Transfer and set aside.

Prepare crumble dough

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Place 350 g flour, 150 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt in the mixing bowl and mix for 10 seconds/speed 4.

Melt and add butter

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Put 250 g of butter in the mixing bowl and melt for 3 minutes/50°C/speed 2.

Knead crumbles

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead for 2 minutes/kneading setting to form crumbles.

Mix in nuts and fruits

Thermomix® Setting

Add the chopped nuts and dried fruits to the crumbles in the mixing bowl and mix in for 10 seconds/reverse rotation speed 2.

Bake

Spread the crumble dough on a greased and floured baking tray (approx. 35 x 40 cm) and press down. Bake in a preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/convection oven: 175 °C/gas: level 3) on the middle rack for approx. 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately cut into squares (approx. 4 x 4 cm) with a large, sharp knife. Let cool on the baking sheet. Dust with icing sugar.
