Description

This lemon chicken is a dish that I often prepare when I want something quick and tasty. The sweet and sour lemon sauce, with its touch of brown sugar and the freshness of lemon zest, makes the chicken tender and flavorful. Perfect for a family dinner or a light lunch, it is prepared in a few minutes and everyone will like it. Ideal to serve with basmati rice or stir-fried vegetables. A real comfort food with an exotic touch!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • Chicken breast
  • Peanut oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • to taste Chinese rice wine
  • to taste Lemon juice
  • Brown sugar
  • Lemon zest
  • to taste Salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Preparation of the chicken

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips. Set aside.

Preparation of the cornstarch batter

In a bowl, pour the cornstarch and dilute it with 3 tablespoons of water until a smooth batter is obtained. Set aside.

Cooking the chicken

In a pan, heat a drizzle of peanut oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and brown them, adding a pinch of salt and stirring occasionally. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside to keep warm.

Preparation of the lemon sauce

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Remove most of the oil from the pan. Add 1 tablespoon of Chinese rice wine and cook over high heat for 1 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1, without the measuring cup, to evaporate the alcohol.

Adding the ingredients to the sauce

Add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, brown sugar, finely chopped lemon zest, 4 tablespoons of water and finally the previously prepared cornstarch batter. Adjust with salt.

Cooking the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/194°F/Speed 2 90

Cook the sauce for 5 Min./90°C/Stufe 2, without the measuring cup, until a thick sauce forms.

Finalization and serving

When the sauce has reduced, turn off the heat and add more finely chopped lemon zest. Serve the chicken strips by coating them with the lemon sauce.
