Description

This peppers chicken is a classic of Italian cuisine, perfect for a family dinner or with friends. The recipe is simple and tasty, with the chicken melting in your mouth and the peppers adding a touch of sweetness and color. I prepare it often, especially in autumn, when the peppers are at their best. It is a single dish, rich and satisfying, ideal to accompany with homemade bread to mop up the sauce. A tip? Try adding a pinch of chilli for an extra touch!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • Chicken
  • 400 g Peeled tomatoes
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO)
  • Peppers
  • 100 ml White wine
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 100 ml Water

Preparation of the peppers

Clean the peppers by removing the internal filaments and seeds. Cut them into strips and then into small pieces. Set aside.

Brown the chicken

In a large pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil. Brown the skinless chicken, season with salt and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes, until the meat is well browned on all sides.

Deglaze with white wine

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Pour 100 ml of white wine over the browned chicken and set 2 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1 without measuring cup to evaporate the alcohol.

Addition of peppers and tomatoes

Add the chopped peppers and 400 g of peeled tomatoes, previously crushed with a fork, into the Mixtopf. Mix well with the spatula.

Cooking the chicken with peppers

Thermomix® Setting
60 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 1 hour. Transfer the chicken and peppers into the Mixtopf. Add 100 ml of water. Set 60 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf. Check and stir occasionally with the spatula.

Serve

As soon as the chicken with peppers is ready, remove from heat and serve hot.
